Dear Parents,
During the month of September, we studied our “All about Me” unit, where the children had the opportunity to focus on themselves. We spent the first part of the month learning about their physical features that make them uniquely them. We discussed each child’s eye color, hair color, hair type, etc. We read We Are All Alike, We Are All Different. In our sensory table, the children could explore and find foam cut-outs of different colors, shapes, and sizes of eyes, ears, noses, and mouths.
We finished up the month by focusing on “Feelings and Emotions.” We discussed the different emotions that children were feeling and tried to help them understand why they may feel them. During our “Read Aloud” time, we read books like Sad Baby, Happy Baby; Tails Are Not for Pulling; and Mine, Mine, Mine!
I am so excited that Fall has finally arrived! I can’t wait to see the leaves change to all their beautiful colors and feel the crisp fall air!
This month, we will be focusing on Fall, including Leaves, Pumpkins, Scarecrows and Halloween. On October 30th, the children may dress in costumes. We will have snacks and have a costume parade.
We hope you enjoy all of the wonderful changes that Fall brings!
